The 2017 Ontario General Insurance Hockey Tournament has wrapped up!
34 teams of insurance industry friends gathered for the weekend to enjoy fun and friendship on the rink and in the Kitchener Waterloo Cambridge area. We want to thank the team representative who organized their players and did what it took to put their team in the competition.
The final scores are now posted and the goals are celebrated and we get back to our work serving the public with their insurance needs in our friendly professional manner.
We thank our Sponsors who help us substantially enhance the contribution to the charities we support.
One of the driving principles for this tournament is giving back to the community. Therefore the charities we support are youth focused.
We collectively raised $35,000 to help kids!
Camp McGovern has been a long standing beneficiary of our efforts. Several of their volunteers were out at the arenas helping us raise funds for their camp that runs all summer for a wide age range from across Southern Ontario communities giving kids who have difficult circumstances the huge breath of fresh air a week at a summer camp can bring.
Lutherwood Childrens Mental Health has been added in recent years. They also had representatives at each of the arenas. Their work is serving and helping a wide range of young people with mental health issues. They are very innovative with starting unique programs. When these programs succeed others tend to follow with funding programs they have been able to establish.
With all we do for this tournament, the opportunity to help young people have a better future is the driving force for your committee and our efforts.
We look forward to seeing you back in Kitchener next March, likely the same weekend so you can mark that in your calendars.
